Belly Fat Increases Risk

Researchers followed about 360 000 Europeans in one of the longest such studies ever undertaken.  They found that the people with the most belly fat had about double the risk of dying prematurely than the people with the least belly fat.

The people did not have to be overweight to increase the risk!!

Death risk increased with waist circumference whether the participants  were overweight or not.

Belly fat puts you at risk even if you weight is normal.  Every 2 inch increase in waist circumference was associated with a 17% increase in mortality in men and a 13% increase in women.

Something to think about, hey.  So what do we do about it? 

Cut out processed foods. 

Get back to eating real foods that grew and lived

Exercise with intensity regularly-dont waste time with so called ‘fat burning’ intensity cardio

And don’t just think about this for yourself, think of your mums, dads, sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, cousins, uncles, aunties, friends and other loved ones.  Help others to make the changes.  Show them how to do it.  This is our lives we are talking about.
